Polyester staple nanofibre for rubber reinforcement

Teijin Frontier, the Teijin Group’s fibres and products converting company, has developed an eco-friendly staple polyester nanofibre that is said to offer excellent performance to reinforce rubber uses in such products as automotive tyres, hoses and belts. Teijin Frontier will start production in 2023 and expects sales to reach ￥1bn (USff8.2m) by the fiscal year ending in March 2028. As part of its Think Eco environmental initiative, the company will continue to expand the types of polymers that can be used for the new staple nanofibres and continue to develop them for a wide range of rubber and resin products.
