Great panes: this shop's abundance for windows and flair for display make a traffic-stopping combination

When you've got as many windows in as many shapes and sizes as Tim Farrell has in his shop, you need a keen eye and a lot of self-confidence when it comes time to decorate them. "The front of our store has two display windows, each of which is 12 by6 feet high," says Farrell, owner of Farrell's Florist, which occupies three floors in a charming Tudorstyle building in a Drexel Hill, Pa., residential neighborhood. "The main door is right on the corner and over that there's a 6-by-4-foot picture window. We've got two windows on the side street that each measure 10 by 5 feet high, plus a second entrance, then another window that's 5 feet square." Add heavy sun exposure to the mix and you've got an even bigger challenge but, like most challenges, thisone came with a hidden opportunity that Farrell has skillfully exploited.
