Selection of mice for brain weight.

In 2 experiments, linecross mice were divergently selected for a change in brain weight relative to body weight, using as the selection criterion the regression of brain weight on body weight. After 21 generations in the 1st experiment, the difference in brain weight between the high and low lines was 89 mg, and the difference in body weight was 1.4 g. In the 2nd experiment, the differences in brain and body weights between the high and low lines at generation 15 were 76 mg and 0.09 g respectively.
