Peculiarities of distribution of BoLA-A antigens and alleles of the BoLA-DRB3 gene in black pied cattle in relation to association with leukemia.

372 Russian Black Pied cattle at 2 farms were divided into groups of animals that were healthy, carriers of the leukosis virus or suffering from leukosis. Using restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis of DNA amplified by the polymerase chain reaction, the healthy and affected cattle were genotyped at the BoLa-DRB3 locus. 20 alleles were identified. Alleles 2*11, *23 and *28, which have been associated with leukosis resistance, were found in the healthy cattle with frequencies of 0.079, 0.132 and 0.053, but were absent in animals suffering from leukosis.
