Analysis of differences in ribosomal DNA structure between two sibling species: Drosophila melanogaster and Drosophila simulans.

Southern-blot hybridization studies revealed structural differences within the ribosomal DNA clusters of two sibling species, Drosophila melanogaster and Drosophila simulans. The approach used was shown to be suitable for taxonomic identification ofthe species examined.
