[1] In the article by Close et al. [2010, hereinafter CCCKL], the authors present a theory of strong electromagnetic pulse (EMP) generation when a meteoroid strikes a spacecraft. Electromagnetic radiation from plasma generated by micrometeoroid and dust impacts have been reported on several spacecraft, starting with Aubier, et al. [1983] and Gurnett et al. [1983] with data from Voyager. A recent publication in the field is Zaslavsky et al. [2012], "Interplanetary dust detection by radio antennas: Mass calibration and fluxes measured by STEREO/WAVES."
