摘要

An art museum that stands on Naoshima, as a consolidation of Tadao Ando's personal architectural practices. In leaving the exterior of a 100 year-old house untouched, and nesting an independent skeletal framework of iron reinforced concrete in it's interior, it aspires towards a "hidden architecture." Opposing elements such as past and present, light and darkness, wood and concrete whilst conflicting, are layered. A concrete cylinder with a bore of 2.7m is buried underground as a space for meditation.
