Psychological Status of Liver Cirrhosis Patients Might Impact Disease Self-Management Learning

To the Editor: We read with great interest the report of Volk and colleagues on their approach to improving the knowledge and capacity of liver cirrhosis patients with respect to self-management at home (1). As liver cirrhosis is a progressive chronic condition, we hope to identify ways to improve the patients quality of life (QoL), prolong the progression-free period, and reduce the time spent in the hospital.
