German passenger car sales up, production down in october

German car makers reduced the output on weak export orders, but sales of new cars increased in October.Cars sales in Germany increased by 13% to 284,600 vehicles in October. However, the growth was rather artifcial considering the WLTP-related bottlenecks in the previous year, which allowed the market to meet a positive effect, according to the VDA. At the same time, sales to foreigner markets dropped by 10% to 303,700 units, Metal Expert learnt. The year to date, fgures added 3%, to 3.0 million units, which is highest mark for the frst ten months since 2009, the report reads.
