Azari K, Golchin M, Kheirandish R, Alimolaei M., Genomic DNA Mycobacterium avium tests from goat intestinal tissue, Onl J Vet Res., 19(10): 679-683, 2015. Genomic DNA Mycobacterium avium extraction stool kits were compared with phenol-chloroform-isoamyl alcohol-proteinase K (PCIA) and a new PCIA detergent method. DNA was extracted from intestinal tissue of a goat suspected of John's disease and test results were evaluated spectrophotometrically for concentration of DNA extracted and quality (260/280nm ratio). Kits yielded higher and PCIA's least DNA quantity, whereas PCIA's yielded maximum DNA purity, and kits, least purity.
