Foot and mouth disease in Iran: An epidemiological spatial modeling study.

摘要

Foot and mouth disease (FMD) is a highly contagious andinfectious disease of ruminants with high prevalence in Iran. FMD cases were recorded forspatial modeling geographic analysis with QGIS and PCI-Geomatic programs. Results showed anoverall prevalence of 1.8 %. Highest prevalence was found in sheep farms (38.86%) and lowestin dairy cattle-goat (0.36%) farms, but highest infection rates occurred in goats (5.51%) andlowest in cattle (1.23 %). FMD prevalence from 2009 to 2014 varied 1.01%, 2.40%, 0.2%, 1.94%,2 and 0.69% yearly. Infection rates were 5.52% in spring, 6.37% summer, 0.98% autumn and 19%in winter. Mean morbidity varied from 0.04% in November to 23.96% in February.
