摘要

Royal jelly produced by young nurse bees contains protein which stimulates cell growth and proliferation. Authors describe dose-response effect of royal jelly (RJ) on proliferation of spermatogonia stem cells (SSC) of pre-pubertal lambs. SSC were isolated from testes by 2-step enzymatic digestion and cultured for 10 days in 5% fetal bovine serum in 0.313, 0.156 or 0.078 mg/ml RJ. Controls were FBS 5% without RJ. Glial cell-derived neurotrophic factor was added as growth factor. Media and colonies were refreshed, counted and measured at day 4, 7 and 10 of cultivation. SSC were identified by immuno-cytochemical assay against protein gene product PGP9.5. There were no significant differences in colony number or total surface area between any group.
