摘要

Influenza viruses include A, B and C types based on internal antigen matrix protein binding to ribonucleoprotein of the genome. Influenza virus A with pandemic potential consists of 16H and 9N subtypes based on surface antigens hemagglutinin and neuraminidase. The H5N1 genome was found to have 8 segments of ribonucleoprotein of single stranded RNA each coding for a different protein. A major problem for vaccine development against influenza surface antigens is due to very rapid mutations. However wefind that PB2 gene of segment 1 may be useful for peptide based vaccine for bird flu because of a significant mutation at 627 position from Lys (K) of H1N1 to Glu (E) in H5N1 K627E mutation.
