Editorial for Journal of Packaging Technology and Research

摘要

I feel extremely happy to recall the publication of the first issue (Volume 1, Number 1) of this journal which was published in March 2017 and subsequently, in every year, three issues of this journal were published. In short, 12 issues of this journal have already been published till date and now, I am pleased to present herewith the first issue (Volume 4, Number 1) of the 4th consecutive year of the Journal of Packaging Technology and Research (JPAC) which is an international peer-reviewed publication that publishes original, high-quality research papers on topics related to packaging science and technology. This journal aims at publishing inter-disciplinary approaches to global issues related to packaging like development of innovative environment-friendly packaging materials to meet the requirement of environmental regulations, safety aspects for the packaging, handling and transportation of dangerous goods as per international norms, technical and socio-economic challenges related to packaging. In addition, the journal would also publish about the development of innovative materials from natural resources and its applications, utilization of biomass materials and its conversion into value-added products for packaging application. Besides, the journal will also cover the application of various packaging techniques such as modified atmosphere packaging (MAP), controlled atmosphere packaging (CAP), breathing films, aseptic packaging, retort packaging, and active packaging for the enhancement of shelf life of food products. In addition, a number of innovative techniques like VCI/VPI-coated paper and plastic films for engineering products, intelligent packaging and the package design mainly structural as well as graphic design would also be covered.
