JNMC's new Cu smelting furnace closed down due to technical problem

Jinchauan Group Limited(JNMC) said its newly-built copper smelting furnace, called as "complex furnace", was closed down on December 4 as a component of steam drying machine(used for drying copper concentrate prior to smelting process) of the copper smelting system suddenly broke down.. The repairing method has been stipulated and a new component will be manufactured installed as soon as possible. The company expects the copper smelting furnace to come back on stream by January 20, 2006. JNMC put the complex furnace into production on September 12, 2005 and the furnace turned out the first batch of copper matte on September 13. Construction of the furnace started in January 2004. The project was designed by China Nonferrous Engineering and Research Institute (ENFI).
