Processing trade of Cu conc. and scraps abolished

The National Development and Reform Commission(NDRC), Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Commerce,, Ministry of Land and Resources, General Administration of Customs, State Administration of Taxation, State Environmental Protection Administration jointly issued a circular "Controlling Export of Some Energy-Intensive, Severe-Pollution and Resources Products", in a move to further restrict exports of the products. From January 1, 2006, processing trade of some products will be removed. According to the circular, importing copper concentrates and scraps and then processing them into copper cathode and finally exporting copper cathode will be prohibited. The government will not approve new processing trade of the products any longer but allow the contracts that have been signed with overseas clients to be completed in a certain period.
