Big lot of Indonesian plate sold to China

Chinese customers turned their attention to imported plate thanks to much lower prices than in the domestic market, with a large volume reported to be booked last week. Indonesia's PT Krakatau POSCO sold about 100,000 t of HR plate to China at $420/t CFR, according to insiders. Imported product was welcomed by Chinese buyers due to high domestic quotes, which are forcing local steelmakers to keep export offers high too despite sluggish demand.
