Chalco to lift alumina capacity by 3.0-5.0 mtpy within 5 years

Aluminum Corporation of China Limited (Chalco) will continue to attach great importance to developing alumina operation by constructing new alumina project both at home and abroad and plan to add new 3.0-5.0 million tpy capacity by 2010, Mr. Xiao Yaqing, the president of the company, said in an interview with Reuters's reporter. Chalco now has six alumina refineries with a combined capacity of around 9.0 million tpy.
