International antimony market remained dull throughout 2003, with prices retreat from the highs in 2002 and staying in the range of 2,000-2,400 US dollars per tonne.. Demand for antimony was not improved until the end of the year, when the prices began to rise modestly and the supply tightness was enhanced a little bit. Production down, stocked antimony consumed largely Chinese antimony production continued to shrink in 2003, resulting in a dramatic decrease in antimony stocks. Entering 2004, supply shortage will be clearly seen on global basis. It is estimated that, from 2002 to 2004, the supply shortage will total about 54,300 tonnes.
