A report of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association (CNI-A) Titanium, Zirconium and Hafnium that Zunyi Titanium Co., Ltd. is now facing serious power shortage. The power supply by Guizhou electricity department (384,000KW per day) can only satisfy half of the demand. Zunyi Titanium is the largest producer of sponge titanium in China with a capacity of 6,000tpy. And it plans to expand the capacity to 10,000tpy this year. China now has a combined 8,000tpy of sponge titanium capacity, which cannot meet the national demand. And now, Zunyi Titanium, as well Fushun Titanium, cannot work at full capacities due to power shortage, which tightens the supply of sponge titanium in domestic market.
