Ag interests upset with insecticide ban

US ag interests continue to press EPA to keep chlorpyrifos on the market and have called on the agency to withdraw a rule that bans use of the insecticide on food crops. The American Farm Bureau Federation, Agricultural Retailers Association, National Corn Growers Association, and dozens of other commodity groups and agricultural organizations say they will suffer “irreparable harm” if EPA bans use of chlorpyrifos on food crops and argue the agency’s rule to revoke food tolerances is unsupported by scientific evidence.
