At the Teleflora Education Center in Oklahoma City, the elements and principles of floral design aren't confined to a class for beginners. They're part of the everyday vocabulary used to help designers at every level of expertise create floral arrangements with a powerful impact on the eye and on the heart-arrangements that sell. First articulated by Buddy Benz in 1952, the elements and principles of design remain a constant that finds new and varied expression as floral styles change. The elements are the features of floral materials, such as line, color, and texture, that provide a designer with I visual content to work with. The principles govern the organization of these elements into a pleasing composition.
