Russian coal sold to South Korea

Russian supplier Mir Trade sold 80,000t of Russian coal to a South Korean utility in a trade that demonstrates recovering prices for Russian material in the region. Mir Trade sold two 40,000t Handysize cargoes to state- owned utility Korea South-East Power (Koen) at around $79/t on a cfr NAR 6,080 kcal/kg basis for delivery in July. This is equivalent to around $72/t on a fob Vostochny basis considering a $7/t freight rate for Handysize vessels from Vostochny to South Korea. The seller will be supplying mate- rial of a minimum NAR 5,600 kcal/kg.
