Vysotsk set to raise coal handling

The port of Vysotsk — Russia’s second-largest coal terminal on the Baltic Sea after Ust-Luga — plans to increase coal handling by 4pc this year to around 8.2mn t as more cargoes come from Russian and Kazakhstan heading to Europe. Railway shipments towards the port were up by 24pc year on year to 2.1mn t of coal in January—March 2019, mainly because of increased deliveries from Russian coal producer Kuzbasskaya Toplivnaya Kompaniya (KTK) and Kazakhstan’s Shubarkol Premium.
