Polysayevskaya upgrades facilities

Polysayevskaya Coal — managing the mining assets of coal producer Zarechanya, declared bankrupt in 2017 — aims to boost coal production by 2.6mn t to 7.8mn t this year through investment in infrastructure upgrades, chairman Yuriy Sazonov says. In January-March, output at its Aleksiyevskaya and Zarechnaya mines in the Kemerovo region nearly doubled on the year to 1.4mn t, according to data from energy ministry information agency CDU TEK. Nearly all of this is expected to be exported — 80pc to Asia-Pacific and 20pc to western markets.
