Meltek targets higher output

Kuzbass-based coal mining firm Meltek is expected to in- crease coal output this year in line with higher exports. The producer continues to focus on exports despite low global coal prices and no access to ports. Meltek targets an increase in output to 4.8mn t this year, up by 500,000t on the year, on stronger output of high-mar- gin coal grades, it says. Most of the firm’s production this year — 94pc, or 4,3mn t — is expected to be sent overseas, and the remainder will be sold domestically.
