Psychophysiological responses during maximal physical activity: A multimodal approach for understanding the role of affect in exercise
Research suggests that affect (perceived pleasure/displeasure) during exercise can be influenced by psychophysiological responses experienced while exercising. While the cardiovascular and subjective affect responses to exercise are well established, the relationship between different psychophysiological responses during and after exercise and how they are modulated by physical fitness remains largely unknown.
