摘要

In this presentation, an Yb-doped fiber amplifier with a Ce-codoping is characterized. The extracted single-mode output was 2.2 W at 1064 nm under diode laser pumping into the pump core. The input power was 3.9W at 975 nm, which gives an optical-optical efficiency of 55%. Under Ti : Sapphire pumping into the laser core the maximum extracted output was 1.0 W With an input pump power of 1.75 W corresponding to an optical-optical efficiency of 56%. Directly after gamma -irradiation with 1000 Gy (Si) from a Co-60 source, the extracted output power dropped by 31% but recovered its pre-irradiation performance after 2 years of storage at room temperature. These results compare favorably with those obtained from other Nd- and Yb-doped fibers without Ce-codoping in the same setup. [References: 3]
