Every day I receive phone calls and emails from members of the public with various comments about life in Stoke-on-Trent and there's often one overriding theme - roadworks. The message is clear. Our residents are fed up. They're fed up with the sheer amount of roadworks taking place at any one time and how long the jobs take. They're fed up with how they seemingly pop up overnight with little regard to or acknowledgement of how it might impact people's lives, or what other roadworks are already taking place nearby. And they're fed up with the scars roadworks leave behind following poor reinstatement work, even more so when we've just invested public money resurfacing roads and pavements.
