Pulmonary hemorrhage after the use of sildenafil

We read with great interest the well-written case report by Azuma et al1 regarding a patient with pulmonary hemorrhage induced by an epileptic seizure. Computed tomography (CT) of the chest revealed diffuse ground-glass opacities in both lungs. The authors suggested that epileptic seizures may have induced increased pulmonary vascular permeability and structural damage to the blood-gas barrier, which may have caused the pulmonary hemorrhage, and they concluded that this condition could be included in the list of differential diagnoses of hemoptysis in patients with epilepsy.
