摘要

Aryl-substituted dinitroalkanes are important synthons in organic chemistry. 2-Phenyl-1,3-dinitropropane was synthesized using Mg-Al calcined hydrotalcite as a solid base catalyst. The reaction proceeds through nitroaldol condensation, followed by a Michael-type addition. The effects of various parameters were studied. A catalyst with Mg-Al ratio of 3:1 was found to be the most active. Selectivity of 100% was obtained for the desired product. The catalyst could readily be recycled without much loss of activity. A kinetic model was developed based on the experimental data.
