MEMORIAL SEAT AND CHAIN OF OFFICE DEDICATED IN MEMORY OF BRIAN L MAGUIRE MBE

The Omagh Branch of the Royal Ulster Constabulary George Cross Association recently dedicated a memorial seat and chain of office in memory of a former Coleraine man Brian Lynn Maguire MBE son of the late Mr Eddie Maguire and Mrs Lily Maguire. Brian left Coleraine in 1953 to travel by train to Enniskillen to begin his career in the RUC and he passed out of the Depot as part of 'C' squad on 8th March 1954. His policing career took him to County Armagh where he met his wife Ethel who predeceased him some years ago then to Belfast where he was one of the founders of the forerunner to the Nl Police Federation and finally to the county town of Tyrone, Omagh, where he settled and was adopted as a 'local'.
