Current Directions at the Juncture of Clinical and Cognitive Science: Introduction

When the Society for Applied Research in Memory and Cognition met in Kyoto, Japan, inJuly 2009, research concerning clinical cognition served as one organizing theme. Now italso serves as the focus of this special issue. Mainstream cognitive investigations ofattentional, interpretative, and retrieval biases and deficits take interesting and potentiallyuseful turns when considered in the context of clinical disorders and associatedphenomena. This collection of papers samples the now quite active field of research onclinical cognition. It is dedicated to Professor Kazuo Mori, who organized the meeting withgreat wit and generosity.
