A recent article by Jemmott et al reported notable findings regarding the success of an abstinence-only intervention in delaying sex at 24-month follow-up among African American early adolescents. As researchers and practitioners discuss the implications of these new findings, it is important, as Ri-vara and Joffe point out, to integrate these results with those from past studies to inform public policy regarding sex education.
