Current concepts in evaluation and management of proximal humeral fractures

Proximal humeral fractures are common injuries. A dramatic increase in the number of fractures is expected because of the increase in osteoporosis in an aging population. Treatment of displaced fractures may be complicated and a variety of factors impact the outcome. Recent advances in the knowledge of the pathophysiology and newer techniques of fracture management have improved the outcomes of treatment of these injuries.
