Greek canned peach exports still well below normal levels

LAST year's Greek canned peach exports struggled to escape the shadow of its disastrous 2003 crop, with world sales continuing to suffer a massive hangover. Two years ago, a severe frost devastated Greece's peach crop and caused serious disruption tofanners and canners alike (FOODNEWS passim). World exports of just 167 240 tonnes in 2004, a slight fall on the previous year's 168 870 tonnes, show that the Greek industry is still flushing the last remnants of that year's harvest out of its system.
