Dutch grower Deliflor Chrysanthemums has turned to Regional BGAN to help manage a new facility in Ethiopia. Deliflor is the Netherlands' largest producer of chrysanthemum cuttings (known as slips in the trade), which we sell to growers throughout the world. We offer over 100 exclusive varieties or cultivars of chrysanthemum, each one of which takes up to four years of arduous development. Recently we decided to extend our capabilities in Africa beyond our operations in Kenya and Uganda. We were unable to get sufficiently consistent quality from South Africa, so we looked at Ethiopia as a possible candidate. The climate there is excellent for our purposes, and politically it has become a far more stable country.
