Today the plea goes out from local government minister Marcus Jones for councils to keep up the momentum on public service transformation. It comes after the Public Service Transformation Network (PSTN), established by chancellor George Osborne in 2013 to help places adopt the service reform approach, became one of the victims of this year's local government finance settlement. In a frantic bid to save enough cash to keep rebellious Tory MPs happy and with current ministers having no sentimental attachment to it, the network was quietly dispatched.
