The Highways Agency is currently undertaking a one-off trial to evaluate the use of an exposed aggregate concrete (EAC) as an inlay to a fully flexible pavement. Working with Fitzpatrick Contractors, the experiment is taking place on the northbound carriageway of the M23, in lane one only, where channelised heavy traffic is causing rutting problems.
