摘要

Tim Palmer assesses a shift in attitude in our regular look at the training industry. Recent trends within the roads sector have generated a move away from new construction of roads towards a more rigorous approach to the management and maintenance of existing assets with the aim of increasing their capacity. It is widely recognised that there is a need for training in these new approaches. Consequently, the School of Engineering at the University of Birmingham supported by the School of Civil Engineering at the University of Nottingham has been recently awarded a contract by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) to develop a Masters Training Package (MTP) in the area of Road Management.
