The relief of Lowestoft

It has been a long time coming but the most easterly town in England has now got its Relief Road to help with the regeneration of the town. It was over thirty years ago when the line of a proposed road in the South of Lowestoft was decided and a corridor protected from future development. At that time the main industry in the town, fishing, was already in decline and this continued to the point that to all intents and purposes it died completely.
