The BPA has a long-term commitment to the skills agenda which it unveiled in its UK Parking Sector Skills Strategy in 2007.This perfectly aligns with the Leitch Review which aims to ensure the UK has world-class skills by 2020. The UK Parking Sector Skills Strategy sets out a framework to professionalise the industry,providing crucial blueprints for the future.More qualifications are being introduced to encourage parking professionals to develop their skills within the sector,and to make it a real career option for others outside of the industry. The strategy has been designed to ensure people have the right skills now and as the industry evolves,and to also improve staff retention rates.It aims to improve the quality of services by offering an opportunity for those working in the sector to develop their knowledge and skills base,and provide a structured career path.
