To evaluate the efficacy of auricular acupuncture in providing pain relief and reduction of anxiety in a population of elderly people with a hip fracture.Double-blind RCT.Out-of-hospital emergency care centre, Austria. Patients were identified through the use of the Vienna Red Cross and treatment was administered by the paramedic staffing the ambulance that arrived to pick up the injured person.
