1.The DfT has launched an Excel-based benchmarking tool allowing local authorities in England to compare their performance on the ten national transport indicators. 2. DCLG has published guidance on how the Community Infrastructure Levy system and a reformed Section 106 system of planning obligations will operate. CIL came into force in England and Wales on 6 April and will be the primary mechanism through which developer contributions are raised for transport and other infrastructure. The scope for planning obligations (Section 106 contributions) is to be narrowed.
