A-One+ faces fight for ￡500m North West deal

The A-One+ consortium will face competition from Amey, EnterpriseMouchel and joint ventures between Atkins/Skanska and Balfour Beatty/Mott MacDonald for the asset support contract covering area 10 in the North West that could be worth up to ￡500 million. Bids for the deal, which will see spending of between ￡50 million and ￡100 million per annum over the first five years, are due back with the Highways agency by September 19 2011 and the contract is expected to start in March next year.
