We need better roads not more runways

The chorus is growing ever-more deafening for Chancellor George Osborne to loosen his purse strings and spend more money on infrastructure. But the national papers are ignoring sectors which could make a real difference and are focusing on pet projects like a new runway at Heathrow. Contractors and suppliers are crying-out for work now. Projects like a third runway at Heathrow will take years to get off the ground and do little to fill order books today.
