New Guidance on Parking in Residential Areas

The IHE Parking Group in collaboration with CIHT recently published a new guidance note on Parking in Residential Areas. This new guidance is the culmination of 18 months of painstaking work and highlights that poorly planned residential parking can lead to neighbourhood disputes, increased crime, danger to pedestrians and ultimately, undermine public health. In launching the new guide, Chair of the IHE Parking Group, Chris Saunders FIHE of Reading BC said that the document brings together the best practice used around the country to determine residential parking standards and is being released at a time when there is considerably change in national planning policy.
