Piraeus Bank sells non-performing shipping portfolio

PIRAEUS Financial Holdings said that its subsidiary Piraeus Bank has reached an agreement with an entity affiliated with US-based fund manager Davidson Kempner Capital Management for the sale of a shipping non-performing exposures portfolio, whose gross book value amounts to €400m ($451m). The agreed consideration will reach some 53% of the portfolio gross book value, it said in a statement, adding that closing of the deal was subject to customary conditions including approval by the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund.
