ZIM has agreed to charter in three 7,000 teu dual-fuel containerships for eight years from its affiliate Kenon Holdings owned by shipping magnate Idan Ofer. Kenon is the largest shareholder of the New York-listed carrier with a 26% stake in the company. Zim said the $400m worth of hire would further strengthen its core operating fleet and position it "at the forefront of reducing carbon intensity".
