BBC2 show to reveal M6 in action

A behind the scenes documentary will reveal how the Highways Agency and its partners work tirelessly to keep the M6 open and traffic flowing.Tentatively titled The Motorway: Life in the Fast Lane, the show sheds light on the challenges facing Highways Agency staff, Amey, Skanska, the Central Motorway Police Group and Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency amongst others.Last winter the Highways Agency let film crews from The Garden Productions follow every aspect of its work on the M6 in the Midlands and the results are due to go out on BBC2 early next month.Film crews followed construction staff, traffic officers, litter pickers, emergency responders, control room operators and wildlife champions as they carried out their duties in the Midlands between November 2013 and March 2014.
